A+ Plus Windshield Replacement & Windshield Calibration FAQ

Have an auto glass-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • How do I know if I should replace or repair my windshield?

Windshield damage can occur in cracks and chips. Small chips and cracks are usually easy and safe to repair. If the damage is no larger than the size of a dollar bill, then it can be repaired. However, if you see more than 3 cracks on the glass or if there is a chip in the driver's line of sight, you will need to have the windshield replaced. According to Glass.com, windshield cracks greater than 12 inches long often necessitate replacing the glass. If you ever have any doubt about whether you need repair or replacement services, give us a call!

  • How soon should I drive after my windshield is replaced?

The time you should drive after your windshield has been replaced will vary depending upon the temperature and humidity. Warmer temperatures will cause the adhesive to cure faster, allowing you to be able to drive your car anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes after replacement. Colder temperatures tend to remove moisture in the damaged area, causing it to freeze. If moisture freezes, it expands and creates pressure on the damaged area, leading to more cracks. When having your windshield replaced, make sure your glass is moisture-free.

  • When having my window tinted, how dark should I go?

Every state has its own laws of how dark you are allowed to tint your windows. The laws also specify the number of inches from the top of the windshield that is acceptable for tinting. Before making a decision on tinting your windows, research what tint levels are acceptable in your area. Then, call our windshield company for high-quality tinting services.

  • Which is better, aftermarket windshield glass or OEM?

OEM auto glass is made by the manufacturer that provided your automaker with the windshield they originally placed in your car. When you are having your windshield replaced and choose OEM, it'll result in you getting a new windshield that is almost identical to the one the car had when it rolled off the dealership lot.

  • What is a fair price to pay for window tinting?

At A+ Plus Windshield Replacement & Windshield Calibration, we offer our clients affordable and fair prices. Call us today to discuss a professional, quality tint job done at a reasonable price.
